Why North East ?

The North East States of India - encompassing Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, and Tripura - are a region of unparalleled natural beauty, rich cultural heritage, and diverse linguistic communities. Despite their significant potential, these states have often been underrepresented in the broader discourse on India's educational and developmental agenda. The "India-Japan Education Conference" seeks to change this narrative by spotlighting the North East's unique strengths and opportunities in the context of Indo-Japan relations.

Speaking about the conclave Siddharth Deshmukh, President, IJBC mentioned, “This conclave is a stepping stone to building stronger academic and cultural bridges between India and Japan. We look forward to creating long-term partnerships that will benefit students, educators, and both nations.”

The conclave will also host four Japanese universities and Japanese Language vocational schools from Japan, offering participants the chance to directly engage with educational institutions and learn more about study opportunities in Japan.

With over 791 registered participants (Till 6th September 2024) from the North East Region, the event will provide a platform for students, educators, and industry professionals to explore:

● Study and Research Opportunities in Japan: 78% of registered participants expressed interest in studying or working in Japan, with 40% keen on research collaborations.

● Learning Japanese Language: 58% of participants are eager to learn the Japanese language, reflecting growing interest in bridging the language gap for better educational and professional opportunities.

The conclave aims to strengthen Indo-Japan educational and cultural ties, fostering collaboration in technology, research, and innovation. This event will also feature booths dedicated to Japanese traditional arts, anime, pop culture, and more, offering participants a unique cultural experience.

As a strategic move, the conclave highlights the North East Region’s importance as a hub for international educational collaboration. By bringing global opportunities to local students, the activity aims to boost academic exchange, research innovation, and long-term partnerships between India and Japan.
