The visit of the Director of the Super Science High School (SSH) program for Ritsumeikan, Japan, to Chennai with Japan Education Center And Information (JECI) was a perfect blend of academic collaboration and spiritual exploration. Over the past few days, the Japanese delegation immersed themselves in India's rich cultural heritage, visiting revered sites such as Kapaleeswarar Temple in Chennai, Mahabalipuram, and Sri Aurobindo Ashram in Pondicherry.

A highlight of the visit was their participation in a Vedic Yagya ceremony at DAV Group's Vedic Vidya Kendra in Pondicherry, showcasing the depth of India's spiritual traditions. This cultural exchange paved the way for a significant academic partnership between Ritsumeikan and DAV Group of Schools, Tamil Nadu's leading K-12 institution with 47,000 students across 20+ schools. As a result, a three-month research program will commence, featuring reciprocal student visits between Japan and India.
On the April 28 2025, a meaningful visit took place at the Indian Institute of Technology, Chennai, where key discussions on future collaboration were held. Representatives from the Japan Education Center and Information, along with the DAV Group of Schools, met with the CEO of IIT Chennai to explore new academic opportunities.

The meeting focused on facilitating deeper engagement between Ritsumeikan, DAV institutions, and IIT Chennai through an upcoming three-month STEM-based research exchange program.
JECI has played a vital role in paving the way for this initiative - strengthening the bridge between Japanese and Indian academic communities, and setting the stage for impactful, cross-cultural learning experiences.
