Indo-Japan Business Council and DBohra launch Japan Business Readiness Program to strengthen India–Japan business collaboration

Mumbai, 19 December 2025

The Indo-Japan Business Council (IJBC), in collaboration with DBohra, has formally launched the Japan Business Readiness Program (JBRP) with the successful completion of its first Awareness Training Session.

The inaugural Awareness Session was led by Siddharth Deshmukh, President, IJBC, and focused on building a foundational understanding of Japanese business culture, decision-making processes, professional conduct, and trust-based engagement. The session marked the first step in a structured pathway aimed at reducing cross-cultural gaps and enabling sustainable Indo-Japanese collaboration.

The Japan Business Readiness Program (JBRP) is a multi-phase framework jointly developed by IJBC and DBohra and consists of:

  • JBRP Awareness – Mindset and cultural readiness for engaging with Japan

  • JBRP Certification – Capability-building modules covering internationalisation, professional management, risk preparedness, and intellectual property

  • JBRP Immersion – A curated learning visit to Japan offering direct exposure to Japanese companies, institutions, and cultural systems

Speaking on the launch, Siddharth Deshmukh, President, IJBC, said: “Engaging with Japan requires more than transactional intent—it requires alignment of mindset, respect for process, and cultural clarity. Through JBRP, IJBC and DBoHRA aim to build a strong and credible bridge between Indian stakeholders and Japanese institutions.”

Representatives from DBoHRA highlighted the importance of structured preparedness for global engagement and reaffirmed their commitment to expanding access to high-quality, internationally aligned business readiness programs across India.

Following the successful launch, IJBC and DBoHRA plan to roll out multiple Awareness Sessions over the coming months, followed by Certification and Immersion phases, ensuring continuity, depth, and measurable outcomes for participants.

The Japan Business Readiness Program reflects the shared vision of IJBC and DBoHRA to promote long-term, respectful, and high-quality partnerships between India and Japan across business, academia, and institutional ecosystems.
