The Japan Education Center And Information Foundation (JECI) and Iris Florets World School have partnered to establish the JHUB JECI Excellence Center in Hyderabad. The initiative will promote Japanese language education, skill development, cultural exchange, study pathways to Japan, and future-ready global competencies for K-12 students, marking a significant milestone in India–Japan educational cooperation.

In a major step toward strengthening India–Japan educational cooperation, the Japan Education Center And Information Foundation (JECI) and Iris Florets World School (IFWS) have signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) to establish the JHUB JECI Excellence Center for K-12 Schools across the two campuses of Iris Florets World School in Hyderabad.
The initiative represents a pioneering effort to integrate Japanese language education, skill development, global learning pathways, cultural exchange, and career guidance related to Japan within the K-12 education ecosystem. The collaboration is expected to create new opportunities for students to develop international competencies and prepare for future academic and professional opportunities in a rapidly evolving global environment.
A First-of-Its-Kind Japan-Focused Excellence Center for Schools
Under the agreement, the two IFWS campuses will function as authorized JECI Skill Units, offering a range of Japan-aligned educational programs designed to foster academic excellence, global citizenship, and career readiness.
The JHUB JECI Excellence Center for K-12 Schools will introduce students to a comprehensive portfolio of programs, including:
Japanese Language Education and JLPT Preparation
Japanese Workplace Skill Development Programs
Japanese-Style Cleanliness and Civic Responsibility Initiatives
Total Quality Management (TQM) Practices in Education

Academic and Cultural Exchange Programs
Japan-Focused Career and University Guidance
Industry Exposure and Interaction Opportunities
Martial Arts Training with Certification Pathways from Japan
Programs aligned with SDGs, Skill India, Make in India, and Swachh Bharat Abhiyan
The center aims to become a leading hub for Japan-focused education in India, creating pathways for students to gain international exposure while developing practical skills relevant to the global workforce.
Japanese Language Education and Global Career Pathways
One of the key pillars of the collaboration is the promotion of Japanese language education in Hyderabad through structured learning programs beginning at school level.
Students will receive access to Japanese language training aligned with internationally recognized proficiency standards, including preparation for the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT). These programs will help learners develop linguistic skills that can support future academic admissions, employment opportunities, and international engagement.
In addition to language training, students will be introduced to Japanese culture, innovation, productivity methodologies, workplace ethics, and leadership principles. The initiative will also provide guidance for students interested in pursuing higher education, vocational training, or career opportunities in Japan.
Building Future-Ready Global Citizens
The collaboration seeks to nurture globally competent students equipped with the knowledge, skills, and mindset required to thrive in an interconnected world.
Through student exchange programs, cultural interactions, academic collaborations, debates, workshops, and Japan-themed educational activities, students will gain valuable exposure to international perspectives and cross-cultural learning experiences.
Speaking on the occasion, Capt. Raj Adhikary, President & CEO of Japan Education Center And Information Foundation (JECI), said "India and Japan share a strong and growing strategic partnership. Through the establishment of the JHUB JECI Excellence Center for K-12 Schools, we aim to introduce students to Japanese values of discipline, quality, continuous improvement, and global citizenship from an early age. This initiative will create meaningful pathways for students to access educational, cultural, and career opportunities connected with Japan."
Representatives of Iris Florets World School welcomed the partnership and emphasized its potential to provide students with international exposure, future-ready skills, and a distinctive educational experience aligned with global standards.
Strengthening India–Japan Educational Collaboration
The establishment of the JHUB JECI Excellence Center reflects the growing demand for Japan-focused education, Japanese language training, and international skill development programs in India.
By combining the educational expertise of Iris Florets World School with JECI's experience in India–Japan education, academic mobility, workforce development, cultural exchange, and industry collaboration, the initiative is expected to serve as a model for future international school partnerships.
The collaboration also supports broader efforts to strengthen educational ties between India and Japan while preparing the next generation of learners for opportunities emerging from the expanding strategic relationship between the two countries.
